You can use the self timer function to achieve time lapse photography on the S5IS. Check out page 18 and 19 of the owner's manual for custom self timer settings. The owner's manual can be downloaded from crutchfield's website, search for "S5IS" and then scroll down on the left and click on download owner's manual.
