Quantum Leap Movie In Development: Will Scott Bakula & Dean Stockwell return?

"Quantum" is making a leap to the big screen. We're giving you the inside scoop right now.

Hey guys, welcome back to Clevver Movies. I'm Amanda Janner with your Quantum Leap movie update.

If you're humming the theme song like we are, it's a good sign that you too are a gigantic sci-fi geek. While at Comic-Con, Quantum Leap star Scott Bakula let it slip that Donald Bellisario, the show's creator, is neck-deep in getting a movie together.

The most interesting part is that neither Bakula nor Dean Stockwell, who played Sam's holographic interface Al Calavicci, will be back reprising their original roles, as they're both "too old." However, they will have cameos.

Bakula also revealed that the feature has the interest of a big-time Hollywood producer, though he didn't give a name. This is all still in the script-development phase, so we'll have to wait and see if "Quantum" is able to take a leap of faith with a movie deal.

Got quantum leap set on the dvr! Awsome show! Itd be cool if instead of doing one leap in the movie he did 3 or make it a trillogy with 2 leaps per movie... Pm me. Id love to hear your input.

WHAT THE HELL? THEY CAN TOTALLY USE SCOTT AND DEAN! WHAT THE HELL????? NO NO NO NO! NO! NO! NO! And I will only see it if Scott still plays John Beckett and Al plays someone cool, like Al the bartender!

I think having sam's daughter take over the leaps in an effoft to locatd her dad and al who somehow also has become stuck in the past would be awesome. Al's wife can be the catalyst and someone new can be her link back ala Al to Sam.

I honestly will only watch this movie if Scott and Dean are the main characters. It will flop if they don't, and honestly is very disrespectful to them!

I don't understand why they COULDN'T come back and do their roles because of Age??? It's PERFECT! If he's been travelling all over time it takes a lot out of you and so they would naturally age duh! It doesn't affect where they jump to next so I say BRING THEM BACK!!!!
