Star Trek 3 - Arriving at Starbase Remastered VFX shots

I have removed all of the original video footage, the only original footage is where I replaced the viewscreen effects, unlike the previous version of this video from my other channel, so hopefully, it doesn't get taken down by Paramount again.

This is one of the clips that were taken down by Paramount last time.

I hope this good enough for you Paramount.

  • what about the space matrix restoration coils already in place to restore what was lost in battle?

  • @Maverick3971 From my understanding the space matrix restoration coils are part of the warp drive...

  • Battle damage percentage in ST:2 was 13 percent of the hull and in ST:3 65 percent of the hull was battle scarred. And the cause is when in space, it gets cold in space and causes erosion and since their bonding shell was destroyed in battle, the ship became more sensitive to the coldness of space and on top of that due to it's warp drive use, it increased the damage on the ship's hull. Like driving on a punctured tire for too long, the tire will strip and will eventually blow out.

  • @TonyShow82 Yes, but damage appeared in places that had no damage to begin with, like there was no damage on the one side of the secondary hull at the end of ST2... and in ST3, it had damage.

    ST2:

  • @TonyShow82 Sorry the damage to the hull was from phaser and torpedo hits hence the black scorch marks. Sounds good but wrong

  • @Megatron65 Yes, but that doesn't account for the greater damage seen in ST3...

Unfortunately there were many dicrepancies: The bridge of the Enterprise was slightly changed every fucking time, and the bridge of the Bird of Prey in ST IV was a completely unlike the one use in ST III. I would have appreciated some consistency.

But the Enterprise model used in ST I through VI will always be my favourite. It's just so elegant and beautiful, especially when compared to the clunky D.

  • @CJCA915 I am well aware of the extra damage and Nimoy has said that ILM did this to make the Enterprise look like a "marked" ship or too damaged that it needed to be decomissioned. And hence they made a huge blunder in my opinion. Also some at ILM have said they added damage that in Star Trek 2 was on the display Spock showed Kirk in his damage report. Trek fan of 30+ years here

  • There was a love of the vessels themselves in the films that I felt was lost after the move to CGI. The Enterprise-E just has no substance compared to the A & D. I suppose I always loved knowing that somewhere out there was a real, huge model of the Enterprise. The tantalising glimpses of parts of the ship that only got the occasionally sighting gave the ships a mystique that perhaps the total freedom of CGI has removed forever.

  • @CJCA915 Here, go to the Memory Alpha Wiki site on the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 and it also verifies what I said. Read the article under "Final Days".

  • @CJCA915 I kinda forgot to mention that it could also result that some of the genesis blast struck the ship some and maybe possible shortly afterwards the Khan event that the enterprise had a brief run into the klingons that was never seen in the film. Like if you watch ST:5 closely at the end when the Klingons attacked the ship, there was a battle scar on the saucer section and in the next film, it was repaired but they never show the ship in either films get repaired. Anything is possible.
