In Part 2, Gibson explains how the U.S. Army's Green Berets originally designed to parachute into Eastern bloc counties were diverted into COunter INsurgency (COIN) missions to prop up South Vietnam. The poor farmers there were Buddhist/Confuscian while the Diem Catholic regime acted as a land lord demanding payments from the villages. Diem got wealthy and alienated the whole countryside against him. When Diem was removed, the country was on the verge of collapse so we escalated the conflict by sending in U.S. ground troops. The U.S. was unable to see someone who wants to be different than us must be "communists". As LTG Gavin points out there is a 3rd choice and Ho Chi Minh could be our ally if handled right as a nationalist leader wanting socialism. Instead we alienated him and pushed him into the communist camp.

Our simplistic "us" vs. "them" view painted everyone different as the enemy. We have been making dragons to concoct our wars-for-profit ever since Vietnam. The MICC-TT's mechanized model for widget warfare was desired.

James William Gibson author of: The Perfect War: Technowar in Vietnam gives the most amazing and enlightening talk ever on the origins and misconduct of the Vietnam war.

  • The trust hurts but in a good way

  • test 8:12, and test 8:14 (critique8:24,8:26 no shun, no) I'll take a half (bowl of) Mein (noodles). Tasting at the asian market. While some look at the food, the war makers will be busy on killing their own and selling weapons to profit from wars. this pattern is known as the Bathsheba's husband. The military personell/humans that we love sent to war so we are left alone and susceptible for evil warmongers to profit off of us. Forcing us to bear their offspring (or their ways of living).
