What I meant about the electric clippers, was that it would now take a looong time, to restore the magnificent wiry outercoats. But, the black glossy waves survived, INTACT!!

"Sweet"; when I saw the electric clipper, I thought, "Oooohhhh Nooo!!" But, you did a FINE JOB!! I love the glossy Marcel waves across their backs.
Many years ago, I had a mini-Airey, a Lakeland Terrier, a "Lakie" named Scamp. When I hand-fed him, he was so exceedingly gentle, nimblely grasping with his incisors, where I'd feel a soft brush of his molars against my fingers, and he'd have this serious wonderful expression of gratitude on his face.

don't have an Airedale, but I had rough coated Jack Russell for years, and I never could get the hang on stripping. I stuck with a clip job or the natural look. Your Airedales kill me, that first one in particular, he has the same expression my Jack used to get when it was batch time. "I don't really want to do this, but okay....." And the beg was his fav trick too, until he started getting a little old and stiff

I agree with you, "sweet", who has time to hand-strip when they're not going to be shown, it's a half-day's job to groom ONE airedale, let alone 3!! I had a headache by the time I was done with my airedale and 2 mini-schnauzers, it was a battle all the way, and your dogs are soooo good about the grooming!

shaving is not so good for the coat my dear......
When you "pluck" the coat ....the collors are darker...
Hi There
I used to handstrip when I showed my Airedales but now they are just my pets. Their coats still have a good colour and texture, just fine for cuddling. xx
