Now onto the hard stuff...

******** Update ***********
Unions representing 168 Million workers warned the global 'elite' about the financial upheaval taking place. "We are on the road to serious social instability, which could be extremely dangerous in some countries to democracy itself."

That's why they're staying away in Droves!

Note that the second letter makes mention of a 'special company' to do these transactions.

Whilst searching for the reason, I stumbled onto this. Note the later sentences

BRITAIN 'FACING A DEEPER RECESSION THAN ANY NATION':

Iceland 'could join EU by 2011':

Or perhaps this is the reason? Are they worried this will escalate next week into general strikes? Are they worried that it'll turn into something much bigger much quicker? Protectionist and Isolationist sentiments are rising quickly.

I guess they are worried it'll turn nasty, as it did in Paris yesterday.

When there are millions out of work; they'll soon be clamouring for affordable housing. I guess GB has been paying attention to that one -

Or maybe it's because after the total collapse in shipping via the high seas, the shipping via the air is also collapsing?

OR are they looking at the problems in Japan?

Japanese economy hit by "perfect storm":

And the jobless rate in the US is climbing too - at this rate, over 2 million newly unemployed this month...

Now here's something interesting I spotted yesterday. Honda is cutting production in Ontario.

Honda's Alliston plant to cut production:
http://www.wheels.ca/newsFeatures/article/499978

What that article missed is this - they ARE laying off staff; contractors...

Honda dismisses contract workers:
http://www.thebarrieexaminer.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1409552

Do the contractors qualify for unemployment? Or will they be excluded?

Think you'll be OK if the economy fails? Here's a really good article to chuckle at; and then think about a bit further...

Life after the apocalypse:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/jan/29/apocalypse-survival-guide-...

Don't think I want to be anywhere near a nuclear plant after the decline really starts... I am reminded of the long term effects near Chernobyl.

Peace

  • "feverIam" I work on the refinery next door to total and we have been showing our suport to the lads who are protesting. We have nothing against the italians working on there what our problem is the company that has won this contract is excluding british skilled workers. Our region in the country has alot of industry and with the economic status of the country people are on notice or they have been laid off so there is lots of skilled locals out of work which can quite easy do the jobs

  • I hope Total and the contractor follows through with the 'plan' worked out with ACAS, and actually gets some British workers onto the contract!

Good luck over the coming months!

  • Hey Mike!!!

    Thanks again :)

    &

Thanks for all the valuable info.

  • all the leaders ideals for globalisation are falling flat on their face, their policies are simply not working yet they refuse to listen to their nations concerns.

Every leader needs to concentrate on their own country and sort out their own problems and stop interfering in other countries matters.....especially you Mr.Brown.

  • Its always the same scenario. The brits getting fucked.

  • The two recent eclipses match those of 1991 and there was a civil war in Europe at that time as well as a deep recession.

  • England is expensive , the sterling pound is expensive , a ficticious currency. It only produces british beach bums backpackers travelling the world, for the real hard-working english, its nonsense no one want to invest and create jobs in the UK. Devalue and millions of jobs will be created

  • So what's the solution? I don't think protectionism is the only way to get out of this shit. In the 30s protectionism brought to WW2. I say corporations and banks must pay for the this 'cause they're the only guilty of this shit.

  • Hey F!! I enjoyed watching and hearing you. It is true once you start digging info from other sources and non mainstream newspapers then the story takes a different angle.
