I think your approach is great. You keep modifying what you do as you work your way through the challenge. This seems to help keep the mind on the goal and avoid stagnation.

yeah I am a creature of habit so I like to workout but I also like to test various things to see what works best for me.

Incredible! Very inspiring. I am on Isagenix(21 days and counting), and have begun to exercise daily. I hope to lose 49lbs(have lost 11.5 so far in 21 days), but more importantly I have finally started seeing a difference in muscle density. I am following your progress, it is fantastic you have changed your life for the better. Your kids will thank you later, and the wife I am sure as well. Take care!
