This epic scene is so much better now, thanks to George Lucas' new sound effects. George Lucas is a genius! Thank you George!

  • Maybe its just me, but I think the noise should be the new Wilhelm Scream.

  • What I never got was how Gandalf could pull himself up as high as he did and NOT be able to pull himself the rest of the way. He goes from hanging on by his FINGERTIPS to having pretty good leverage on the ledge. What, did his abs cramp up at the last second? Was Gandalf on his period?

  • I love how you use the vader Noooooo right after the krayt dragon sound.

  • this is lord of the rings if it was made by lucas

  • lol nerds arguing

    vvv

  • @ShinobiGarth Why are you defending a fictional character? I never said Gandalf wasn't brave or cool or noble. All I did was tell a joke. Shit is shot very strangely, as he struggles quite a bit to get up to where he does, then seems to falter and fall after doing most of the work. I think that what G did was a great literary moment, but the movie adaptation is kinda silly imo.

  • @bebopbountyhead whatever. you also need to realize Gandalf is several thousand years old at this point and just because he's an angel doesnt mean he doesnt get tired and weak from his physical body giving out. so maybe he did cramp up but so you would if you were his age.

  • @ShinobiGarth Silly, silly, silly. Yes, he confronted the Balrog trying to be a badass. To say that he decided that it'd be better to fight the Balrog is asanine. If that was the case, all he had to do was say "I'ma go fight this mofo. Keep on going, or my sacrifice is for naught." One sentence more. He didn't need to make it look as-if he died. It was pretty obv that he'd be lucky to survive. To do what you're suggesting could only shake the resolve of the party members.

  • @bebopbountyhead nope. he didnt know he was gonna survive the fight with it but he knew he had to fight it to keep it busy in case it was able to recover and attack them before they left Moria. he did not guide the whip to grab him, the Balrog did. at first he was trying to climb back up but then decided it would be better to fight it so they could keep going even if he wouldnt live through it. and technically he didnt live through the fight, Iluvatar brought him back because his job wasnt done
