I thought their live set was great. I caught them in Austin last October and was floored by how much sound they were producing at times. Their soft tunes like this one are much more difficult to perform because of acoustics. you ever try whispering into a mic at a crowded bar and get the sound you want? it's very hard.
Uhhhhh, I'm sure their studio work is great, but they ARE NOT a live band.... Saw them at Sunfest last night in West Palm Beach Florida. They fell flat on their faces. Partly due to mix, but still impossible to reproduce live!
I love this group and their recordings. But this shows how very difficult it must be for them to play live. An acoustic guitar would have helped instead of an electric. Tim's got to be a soundman's nightmare singing that softly.
Wow. I hate to be negative, really, but I think it would sound a whole lot better if Tim and the band would agree on a key and stay somewhere near it. Based on the studio version of "Goodbye" I was gonna go see them in Denver, but this was just sad. I guess Elvis Costello gets my money, again...

Love the Cd but the live thing lacks so much feeling. Do they want to be there?

This is good but, I would like to hear the real song. I hope that if it's not too much that you could upload a video with the song.
