  • Not too impressive. The robot is tethered by a pole so it can neither fall sideways nor deviate from the circular track. Make one capable of doing that *without* the tether and I'll be impressed :P Problem is, fast actuators = large amounts of power using typical protocols and techniques. So springs and elastic storage like evolved limbs is being experimented with.

  • Marc Raibert is now president of the company he co-founded, Boston Dynamics, Inc. Search for BigDog or PETMAN.

  • MIT's leg lab build those allmost 20 years ago.
