On a cold Saturday morning with temperatures in the 20s and winds blowing at 15-25 miles per hour, the inaugural Mad City 100K gets underway at Vilas Park in Madison, Wisconsin. Doubling as this year's U.S. national 100K championships, the event started with a field of 56 solo runners and 25 relays, all setting off to complete 10 laps of the classic 10-kilometer course around Lake Wingra by way of the UW-Madison Arboretum
