I'm sick and tired of the 'cool kids' thinking that they should get a ferret because it's a cool pet just to find out they get into anything and everything, they poop (a lot,) and they steal your socks so you wind up abandoning them. But for the right person, they steal your heart too. So, kids, don't get a ferret unless you know exactly what you're getting into and have a love for ferrets as a whole.

I don't understand how someone can buy a pet and then give it away so easily just because it's boring for them. I would never give any of my babys (I only have my ferret Misaki right now but 7 of my pets have departed for heaven) up unless it was best for them and I would definately make sure that they went to good, loving, forever homes like with family or experienced owners. Never buy a pet when there's a possibility you're just gonna give it away when you get bored, They're not toys!

i rescued a lovely ferret from a women who was going to let it die by not feeding her and the poor thing was in bad health when i got her iv had her (LeStat)for almost 2 weeks now and is in good health and i love her so much

I also have a ferret. His name is Fred (I know very original ;p ) I got him from couple who were expecting a child. He stole my heart the same socond I saw him. Every day when we are on a walk many people asks me questions like: How much does ferret costs? I'm totally sick and tired of them beacose when I tell them ferrets dig in flowers or they're no good for children they dont belive me. Im always scared that they will buy one and later on leave it in forest or on the street. :((

@klcopen13 i kno! people will actually keep them for YEARS then get bored of them and sell them back to freekin petco! thats like having a child till they are 8 and leaving them somewhere. how they are kept in petstores is shameful! idk how anyone could just give them up!

I have seven ferrets right now, some bought, some rescued. And I never want to be without them. My outlook on life changed completely when I got my first ferret, a sweet guy someone found on the street and gave to me. He was named Popcorn, and he was an angel. While he has crossed the bridge, he stays in my heart. And if I had the means, I would give every ferret I encounter a forever home. There is absolutely no other pet like them.
