Desde que en 1949 se proclamara la República Popular China y el Partido Nacionalista Chino encontrara refugio en Taiwán, la isla ha nadado entre dos aguas. Cada día, sus habitantes se mueven entre la tradición china y la modernidad norteamericana. Entre el comunismo y el capitalismo. Entre el día y la noche. Cada mañana Taiwán amanece para ver su imagen en el espejo y cruzarlo. Una imagen que, como en el cuento de Alicia, es opuesta pero extrañamente complementaria.

Since the Chinese Nationalist Party found refuge in Taiwan and the proclamation of the Peoples Republic China in 1949, the island has swum between two stools. Every day, people move between chinese tradition and american modernity. Between communism and capitalism. Between day and night. Taiwan sunrise every morning to see his image in the mirror and to cross it. An image that, as in the story of Alice, is opposite but strangely complementary.
