How to Install a PCI Firewire Card

I was very confused about this so when i finally figured it out i made a video of it....Ask questions or anything if you need help

what if there is not port for a firewire cable to fit. like theres a bunch of usb ports but none that will fit a firewire.

you have to buy the card, open your computer, put the card in, and now you have a firewire port!

i have no clue, im not too familiar with laptops because i dont own one, maybe someone at bestbuy or something would know

Well there are two things that i know of that may have happened. 1. I would take the card out and put it back in again, look at the base of where the card goes in and see if u think its in all the way, it took me quite a bit of force to make it click in all the way (just dont brake the card). 2. It may take the computer a bit to recognize that the card is installed and the camera is turned on and plugged in so i would just wait like 5 min. just to make sure. Hopefully this can help.

Im thinking of getting one for my studio mixer, but there is no way im taking my computer apart incase i fuck it up haha. im just get a computer specialist to install it for me

@NickGoesR0aor FUCK NO what are ya stupid what you buy with a laptop is what you get you cannot upgrade alot of it afterwards except the ram cpu and gpu.

You also won't have just "3-4 pci slots" it depends on how big your motherboard is. I have seen motherboards with pci slots ranging from 1 to 7 pci slots, not in voiding pci express x1 or pci express 2.0 x16

Ok, when I installed mine, and after trying to plug my camcorder in, the computer doesn't pick up that there is a camcorder connected. Can you help me out here?
