"When at a distance, estimated by our fishing boat's captain, of 7 nautical miles from the coast, we dropped our fishing nets and started fishing the Israeli warships rushed to reach our position.
One of the warships positioned at a distance less than 200 metres alongside of our fishing boat, opened fire in our direction at least 4 times during the day. It was intimidating fire directed into the water, but some bursts almost touched the hull of our boat. A cannon shot almost reached us. Making attempt of obtaining a radio contact was useless. Soldiers on the Israeli warship ordered, with the use of megaphones, the area evacuation. And after that they were shooting. Sometimes they were shooting before having ordered. Once they shooted to our fishing nets and tried to damaged it sailing directly on them.
Unfortunetely our big mistake was not having with us neither cameras nor video cameras that, together with megaphones to be used exactly like they do, I consider essential for our next fishing missions.

Despite these intimidations the fishing was rich and profitable, we brought ashore quantity of fish ten times bigger than the usual Palestinians fishers standard."

Il mondo deve sapere, aprire gli occhi e reagire dinnanzi a ciò che avviene a poche miglia dalle coste di Gaza.

Nel video, ripreso da alcuni miei compagni, il mio peschereccio viene bersagliato da raffiche di mitragliatrice da una nave da guerra israeliana.

Questi crimini contro l'umanità, di cui Israele si macchia, avvengono pressochè quotidianamente, omicidi e ferimenti di pescatori palestinesi che si allontano oltre le 3 miglia dalla costa, limite illegale imposto dalle Autorità israeliane, nonostante gli accordi di Oslo abbiano fissato a circa 20 miglia dalla linea costiera il limite massimo di allontanamento e le 12 miglia sancite dall'Accordo Bertini, stipulato nell'Agosto 2002 tra le Nazioni Unite e Israele.

La nostra presenza, in quanto internazionali, qualche giorno fa ha scongiurato morti e feriti fra i palestinesi,
ci auguriamo che l'ulteriore presenza di telecamere funga da deterrente a qualisiasi azione criminale da parte israeliana.

Noi, pacifisti, accompagneremo al largo, non oltre dieci miglia dalla costa,
pacifichi pescherecci che con la loro attività rappresentano uno degli unici sostentamenti possibili all'interno di un economia schiacciata dall'assedio in cui è costretta Gaza.

Why does the video cut from a scene of people reeling in nets to a scene of a boat parallel to the IDF boat being "machine gunned"? What did you cut out? No doubt you cut out the IDF warning the ship, even so the IDF was firing into the water. Nice try.
