My main problem with this episode is how hackman's character is changed by the writers from a mastermind in ''forgive us our debts'' to a complete idiot in this one.It just seems like a uninspired, corny way to allow crockett to remove the egg on his face from the previous episode.Hackman was shown to be a calculating, highly intelligent criminal. So now im supposed to believe him to be a reckless idiotic lunatic? Not happening.

Hackman was armed, no doubt about it. If you follow his character in the previous episodes, you would see him ruthlessly protecting himself at any cost. Completely believable that he would be armed at all times while on the lam. Inspite of this, Crockett did execute him in revenge for Kaitlin. The presence of the gun is irrelevent to Crokett going over to the dark side.

*BLAM* "Wrong..."
I love how Johnson doesn't even flinch when he fires. You almost NEVER see an actor manage that.

Hackman killed Sonny's partner (pre-Tubbs) and was on death row for the crime. He then manipulated Sonny into thinking he was innocent, and Sonny helped get him off death row, only to have Hackman throw it in hi face after getting out of prison. He then showed up years later, and ends up murdering Sonny's pregnant wife. Sonny tracks him to a foreign country where he has arranged for corrupt officials to block his extradition. Under these circumstances I can understand Sonny taking the law i

Freaking censors nearly ruined one of the best scenes in Vice history. Crockett didn't plant ANY gun on the body nor did Hackman pull one out before Crockett snuffed him out in cold blood. It was NO freaking case of self-defense! That said, I love the contrast between Caitlin's song playing as a somber Crockett walks away having avenged her. The "Sonny Burnett" arc is next and Crockett would take out more narcs and mobsters there as the evil Burnett than he would as Crockett. MV4EVER.

@samdash95 Sonny DIDN'T plant the gun. His backup in an ankle holster was STAINLESS...the gun in Hackman's hand was BLUE STEEL.
The State of Florida does not need to use an electric chair. Sonny Crockett on speed dial is the answer.

FYI: If the gunman is still you might have a chance.
If the gunman is shaking then you are screwed.
