outloud Web Exclusive: Jazz Night at the Warehouse

Every Monday night at the Warehouse in Tallahassee, Jazz fans and musicians convene for an open mic jam that goes well into the night (which in Tallahassee means 2 AM). Started by Andrew Altman many years ago, each night starts out with the Warehouse Trio. While the original Trio isn't there as often, we were lucky enough to catch them on this Monday night. As the night progresses, different players come up on stage and everyone gets their moment in the sun (in the darkness of the Warehouse). The later it gets, the more open it gets horn players trading licks fro all around the room.

We also interviewed the original Trio: bass player Andrew Altman and drummer Mark Raudabaugh, who are both with the Codetalkers now, and keyboard player Scott McQuade, who now organizes and MC's the event.
