@lukebyankee When I was but a child, I learned what true acting really was by watching your mother in THE BAD SEED - she broke my heart. In '95, I saw her in a hotel lobby in NYC & wanted so badly to tell her this. But she looked busy & I lost my nerve, didn't want to bother her. I regret missing my chance now. God bless her!

@lukebyankee I just read your book! Fantastic! Loved your mother's work ever since The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Burnt Offerings . The last time I saw her on TV was a minor role on "One Life to Live". Her role was very minor but there was such empathy to her character that I wanted the focus of the show to go towards her in the "Alison Perkins Stolen baby" storyline !

I've always thought Robert Duvall over-rated but never reallised what a bore he was until now. And talk about lack of class or just plain good manners.

@lukebyankee I had the great good fortune to work with your mother for a few months when I was a DGA trainee, on a short-lived tv series called "Trauma Center." She was a model of professionalism, honesty, and humor.

I m Eileen Heckart's son. The reason Robert Duvall laughed had nothing to do with Shelley Winters. Duvall locked eyes in the audience with James Caan, with whom he'd just shot The Godfather. Caan made a rude gesture (a private joke) and Duvall lost it. He called Ms. Winters to apologize the next day but it was too late. My book, "Just Outside the Spotlight" has many great stories about that night and how amazing it was for my mom and my family.

What a huge disgrace when Robert Duvall started laughing when he mentioned Shelley Winters for the Poseidon Adventure.
