CSW Coach Brian Yamasaki demonstrates a counter to the Double Leg Takedown. This particular counter is a late counter to be used once your opponent is inside the sprawl and wall range. It is a modified version of a counter demonstrated by Coach Rico Chiaparelli at the 2005 CSW Instructor and Fighter Camp.

  • really good videos but i think i can hear the camera man breathing. might want to invest in a stand alone microphone. for more professionalism. great tutorials

  • @BadBackBeast pick up a subscripion to DamageControlMMA,com and help us afford to continue this project... and afford all the great gadgets and gizmos we need to sound super professional. :)

  • This move works tried it on my dog. He came up and bit my stomach, I then grabbed his waist and rolled him. He was like mutha fucka

  • @iwanttofight69 I feel that most dogs are natural wrestlers. They rarely go for submissions, they never pull guard it's pretty much all about top positioning for them.

  • this can work given the right circumstances, no technique will always work but with enouf techniques in your tool belt you can have the right one for what ever job u run into... thanks 4 the vid man, u gave me one more tool =)

  • very nice

  • @theguyi26 Ya true, his partner's double had next to zero penetration, and the odds of hitting this move are pretty slim, cause the shooter would have to pretty much just fall right over to get it. And even if you are able to get under, the guy on top can hit a peterson and make this move completely pointless.

  • I believe the reason this wouldn't work in real sparring is because the double leg guy isn't driving. In real life even a novice will drive forward/sideways very hard. Then when he tries the counter by jumping he will only fall over... the wrong way, and land on his back.

  • Great move, I sure could have used that on my friend when we used to wrestle, he was always getting me on the 2 leg takedown!!

  • Nice, makes me wanna get back into judo, damn college.

  • your gym went under.

  • @GoongFooStud i spawl in position

  • I assume you can do this in regular wrestling? Sorry if its a stupid question, we were shown how the double leg is performed and I think I can handle that but I don't know aout counters

  • Everyone keeps saying that is a terrible double leg... Thats what my double looks like :(
