  • What a shame that I cannot put on my bucket list "Watch Sarah Vaughan perform live". Roundabout the time that her voice sounded like this, of course. :) Thank you Stephan for the recommendation - I had not yet heard this song.

    You're welcome.:)

  • Another Sarah Vaughan gem! Thanks doesn't even seem to be adequate anymore, but at the risk of being redundant, Thanks Stephan for all the lovely music you post. Man you have turned me on to so much great music.

  • I LOVE YOU, SARA!!!

  • beautiful beautiful!! love her version! Such a great song and a great voice!

  • just to point it out: i m perhaps the greatest fan of ella fitzgerald, but THIS VERSION of the great weill song is the best i heard. ever. this is not to beat ... wauuuuu

  • one of the best version

  • Damn, it just occurred to me. I really could listen to Sarah Vaughan for 100 years.

  • maybe its my age but i miss having sarah and ella to go see at the jazz festivals when we had them in new york

  • What to say?? Who ever could sing like that? She's magnificent...my muse, and one who to me is the standard by which all others could never live up to. Love you, Sarah!! xoxo

  • An incomparable song stylist and an equally incomparable voice. Her duets with the great Billy Eckstine are the epitome of modern music. That kind of quality reaches through the ages. Few others have established a body of modern music so stylish as that of the Divine Sarah.

My other favourite stylist Julie London comes close yet the two are miles apart. But each stands out, alone, unapproachable, incomparable.
