Halo 2 didn't have an alternate ending

Halo 2 had no Legendary ending, that post-credit cutscene even plays on easy difficulty :P

I've played through Halo 1,2 and 3 and I've noticed something :

Halo 1, you escape.

Halo 2, you fight a boss.

Halo 3, you fight a boss and escape.

for halo 1 when the elite and Johnson are higging, the elite holds Johnson's butt.

for Halo AE, when the elite and Johnson are hugging, Johnson holds elites butt..
