Wimba Customer Spotlight: Centennial College

In Toronto, Centennial College is the oldest community college in all of Ontario. It's been using Wimba Classroom since 2005 as a means of facilitating hybrid courses, as the school doesn't offer any course entirely online, so it therefore integrates Wimba Classroom into Blackboard for use in classroom-based situations. Wimba is a supplement rather than the main learning/teaching environment. Several professors have conducted surveys that find high satisfaction rates among students because they feel real-time communication in addition to face-to-face course time helps them to understand/reinforce subject matter. Centennial counts on Wimba to achieve several goals including helping students' employability skill focus, language training and practice, presentation skills, and group process and interpersonal skills.
