Gosselin kids say goodbye to their dogs

Tabloid coverage of Jon getting rid of Shoka and Nala while the kids wave goodbye. And more coverage of Jon smoking pot, affair with babysitter, claims of suicide etc... I'm guessing some of these stories aren't true, but even so, why does he continue to put himself out there for this horrible scrutiny? The dogs were there for a year, perhaps to make the show cuter. Is it the cousin oliver syndrome?

It was later confirmed that Kate is the one that had the dogs removed.

I wonder if the kids have any sense of reality. They opened presents and celebrated Christmas early without being told... so the crew could have the real holiday off to be with their families. What a sense of reality.
