They are Jelly d'Aranyi (left) and her sister,Adila (d'Aranyi) Fachiri. Photo taken by Sydney J. Loeb in London, 1923. Both were important violinists. Jelly received the dedication of Ravel's "Tzigane" and Adila was the dedicatee of Bartok's two violin sonatas.

@totaldynamix : The two women on the pic are two female pianists (probably lover), but Bartok had only two sons. He died in the US, 1945.

Hrm, I thought I had never heard this before, but this is *terribly* familiar in a niggling, annoying way. Was this music ever used in anything rather famous? Anyhow well played and well made and thanks for uploading.

Are the ladies beside him his wife & daughter?
The picture is new to me.
Suppose that he passed away exactly at my age.
I hate LEUCEMIA that mercilessly deprived the virtuoso of his life. Thank you for sharing
amazing pieces of the virtuoso.

Its unfortunate he passed away so early due to leukemia, he was a remarkable pianist and composer.
