This is exactly why Adam's passing is such a loss. Adam and the Boys used every chance they have been alotted to express their passionate views. What a treasure he was. I'm so thankful for the work he did but terribly sad he lost his battle against cancer.

    <3 MCA, Adam Yauch <3

He was given the chance to speak to a live audience. Most concerts/shows do not have the exposure as a live TV award show would have, especially in the 90s where there was no YouTube, Facebook, etc. So this was the best way to spread a message to millions of viewers. Not just thousands at a concert. His message was right. Racism towards Muslims/Middle Easterners needs to stop.

so to be clear, what you're saying is: if you dont like the fact that america is racist, you should leave? yeah that's what i did, actually. happily leaving in canada for the past three years.

That was a very courageous thing to say. Yauch's friend Richard Gere caught some shit for saying similar things after 9/11. It's true, the mainstream US population has a really hard time understanding exactly who attacked us and who didn't ...

The Beastie Boys have never condoned violence and they were always respectful, so hearing this isn't a big surprise. However, MCA had a really good message. Don't create problems with an entire nation of people just because a few extremists went nuts. Think about the innocents before you make an ass of yourself, America.

It would be really easy to bash you & your post right now, including the fact that you absolutely butchered the #1 American language, English. But instead I would like to say this; for one, LongLiveOx got it right, two, Yauch was by all definitions of the phrase "keeping it real", 3, you have proved through your words that hatred, ignorance and racism are perpetuated by blindly accepting the leadership of sensationalist hate mongering politicians. Get a grip, 'Merica was founded by dissidents.

It was obviously out of place, but a good message. I'm not too sure why you got so many thumbs down for saying the obvious.

All of the Boys are awesome, they did/do so much to help the world. It is a tremendous loss to this world that a Hard Core, Kind, Generous, Caring Humanist is no longer here with us. We all need to take on the responsibilty of practicing acts of peace and love, teach others to do the same.Instead too many still harbor hate. Humans need to start evolving...with all this amazing world of tech crap, but we still have people that are too ignorant to grasp this. tech makes it easier, no face to see!
