"Stepping is a traditionally African performing act, often showcased by Greeks, in which sounds are made through stomping, clapping, or other creative means to create a series of rhythmic beats. Chants, songs, skits, and dances are often incorporated to make the act more interactive with the audience. It is becoming more and more popular because of media and Greeks around the world, examples of which include Stomp the Yard, and The Sprite Step Off. While Greek organizations have been a huge part of college social scenes for ages, it has not been the most popular among Asian Americans until recently. Founded in 1981, Lambda, Phi Epsilon became the first and largest Asian-interest fraternity in the world. Since 2003, Lambda Phi Epsilon has strived to serve Duke University socially, politically, and most importantly, culturally."
