because see is blind, her hearing and sense of touch is far greater ,so she is actually less handicapped than most humans. her only weakness is aerial attacks but she can hear some of them. love her personality. tomboyish but with a "down to earth"( no pun) girl personality. i wish i could get to know her in real life. the avatar series is the best cartoon ever made. m night shymalan better not fuck up the 3 moi

@ICYURABUT but she's also an earth bender which makes her vulnerable on water or ice, as seen in "the serpent's pass" in book three, Earth. she also cannot swim which is why you don't see her swimming with everyone.

@sesshylover6 It's hard to say about her humor. I believe that humor in animation is a lot easier than it is in live action. He's no comedian and he probably doesn't know any writters who are either, so it may come down to really bad jokes or no jokes. We might be better off without. As long as she's blind, barefooted, has short hair and Aang's earth bending teacher than I won't mind if they forget to make some jokes and her spiting a few times. Anyway, that's what Im looking for in a live Toph.

@CrushCrawfish I have no control over other people bringing in the torches, but honestly, I don't like creating drama unless someone really makes me po'd. XD You didnt make me po'd, since you were only replying to my comment by stating your own opinion. :) I really hope he doesnt screw up Toph if he's making the sequels. -_-;; She's one of my favorite characters, and I hope he doesnt completely drain out her sarcastic humor like he did with Sokka. >.>;;;

@sesshylover6 Here I thought you and 100 others were going to get your tourches ready because of what I said. It's cool nobody's over reacting here. Anyway, I think the second one should show a lot of Earth bending (after all book two was mainly about Aang learning to master Earth Bending) and I'm sure Toph will still be his blind earth bending teacher. I just wonder if they'll get enough time to stick Suki and Jet into the movie. By the way, sorry everyone, I spelled Yue's name wrong earlier.

@CrushCrawfish Unfortunately I don't own any of the box sets, so I wouldnt have known that. :/ And although I do agree with you that it pretty much had all the main stuff that happened in season one, I personally think he did a crappy job at putting it together. Some things could have been put together so much more nicely. :D But oh well. I personally think that, if he IS making Book 2 and 3, he doesnt make the same mistakes I think he did in the first one. :)

@sesshylover6 I disagree. It a had ALL of the key parts to the first season. Aang's awakening, their journey to find him a water bending master, they freed the Earth benders, Aang being freed from cepture by Zuko (the Blue Spirit) and Yuji's sacrfice. That's was basicly everything in the first season. Not to mention, if you'd to watch the extras in book 3's box set, you know that he signed a 3 picture deal contract, so try to get use to his style. The next 2 should be coming out sooner or later.
