I found your video around this time last year. I am amazed how wonderful it looks. Like others, your fountain really intriques me. I can't tell from the video, but from previous posts, you actually removed the cherubs that are in the middle (holding the upper saucer) of the fountain? Did you replace them with other gargoyles or just change their looks?

I used a small grinder on a dremel. Make sure you put some masking tape or protection around it so you don't accidentally nick the tiny wires leading to the lights!

How did you remove the cherubs holding up the upper fountain ? Thanks

Hey does the fountain have real water and for how much does it go for?

The house with the flickering lights is called "The Grimsly Manner". It was retired in December 2009. It is one of the nicest mansions that Department 56 put out there. I have seen it going for a good price on ebay.

~ I made a fountain like this one. I painted it gray, then distressed it with black paint so the fountain looks like the gargoyles that replaced the cherubs. Looks great!! I had to pry the cherubs off with a pliers and exacto knife to get rid of the rough edges, then glued the gargoyles on with a water proof glue. Hope this helps and good luck!!

I have another question. I purchased the fountain and the gargoyles. What is the best way to remove the cherubs? I would appreciate any suggestions! I was getting ready to go at it with a jigsaw-but I don't want to crack the whole thing!
Thanks for the great compliment. I bought the fountain through Lemax on-line. I did not remove the cherubs in the middle holding up the center bowl. I did remove the cherubs on each of the 4 corners and replaced them with gargoyles. I used my handy-dandy multi purpose dremel tool to cut off the cherubs. I took some black paint and rubbed it all over the fountain to give it a distressed look. I have started setting up this years village and plan on making a new video to post. Daniel
