...just a thought . Having said that ...i find coverdale and hughes as integral to purple -as gillan and glover . I suppose its simaler to bon scott / brian johnson - roth / hagar ....more so with purple i reckon - its a shame that glover was booted -but then again -how interesting for purple to become soul oriented -i wish purple would have made a couple more LPS with this line up .

@Cliner98 They set the band up right from the beginning though and page hand picked the people he wanted and they respected each other as musician and people i think. With purple it's always been more of Ritchie trying to make purple in his vision and not really wanting them to "input" to the writing. I really think what page hated about Coverdale and Hughes most is they were songwriters too. The problem with Ian is just that he doesn't put up with ritchie's trips and later as coverdale didn't.
