The Egg Drop Project was giving me a lot of problems so once I figured it out, I tested it, and when it worked, I just had to show you all so that for future reference if you have any problems you can just watch this and use my idea. This container is made of four 4 1/2 in. by 4 3/4 in. pieces of cardboard and two 3 1/2 in. by 4 in. pieces of cardboard for the lid and bottom. I used Duct tape to construct the box and covered it completely with duct tape then covered it completely with painters tape. The basic Layering system I used was Bottom: Shredded Styrofoam plates and plastic straws. 2nd Layer: Styrofoam plate cut into a rectangle, with air holes and 4 toothpicks for legs. (similar to a table.) 3rd Layer: Polyester Fiberfill with a hole in the center to put a plastic muffin cup in, and 4 cosmetic sponges placed in the muffin cup in the shape of flower petals. Top Layer: Polyester Fiberfill to fill the rest of the box.

  • is this under 2.2 lbs?

  • @rachaelrae09 Yes! We didn't have a weight limit but this was extremely light.

  • how much does it weigh all together?

  • @youarebeautiful1800 Not very much! I unfortunately don't have it anymore because the teacher wanted to keep it.

  • that's real cool. thanks 4 the idea

  • I remember this last semester. I used a small cup of pringles i think 16oz cup..i forgot but anyways..I just stuffed that cup with jello and shoved the egg in the middle. Put the cap on the top and it worked all three drops. Shoulder drop..Midway stairs drop..and a full 2 stories drop..survived like a charm ☻

  • did you just drop it like that? or did you add a parachute to it, because i have the same project but with a parachute.

  • Good work! Though one weakness I spotted was if it falls on the side, it could easily damage the egg. What I did (and surprisingly worked) was build a triangular pyramid. I don't really feel like explaining it, though... :p

  • this the worst egg drop thing EVER! I did exactly what you said and it didn't work so now i have a bad grade!

  • wow that is beautiful :D The egg drop container is nice too...

  • brilliant!

  • holy shit! i did almost exactly the same thing except for, i made the box out of duct tape, and i used rubber bands hung from the top instead of tooth picks on the floor but i still had the paper bounce pad, and to make sure it landed the right way up i attached a small parachute to the top.
