US Soldier Speaks Out Against The War in Iraq (3 of 3)

In the lead up to APEC, US war veteran, Matt Howard, toured Australia where he talked to people about the realities of the US invasion and occupation of Iraq. He also spoke of US soldier's resistance to the brutal US military regime and the rise of the Iraqi resistance which had to be seen as a direct result of the brutalities of the US occupying forces. The public meeting was organised by the Stop Bush Coalition and it is accompanied with a music clip with images of the APEC protests held in Sydney September 2007. It's a real shame. I know so many people who hate the US in many parts of the world. They don't understand that the actions of the US government to a large extent does not reflect the will of the people. But in the decades to come, it is exactly the US general public that will have to pay the price.

It might be a shame but really the US people must take a collective stand to stop the atrocities carried out by their government or they will continue to justifiably be hated around the world. A lot of people I know understand that it's not the US people but is those that run the show but don't understand why people in the US don't take an active stand against it to stop it. Thanks. Matt is suffering from posttraumatic stress and the military are refusing to take responsibility, say he had the personality disorder before he went into the army so it's nothing to do with them. Good to get feedback,

I find it appalling how some divisively try to make this into party politics & they insult those who have the true guts to tell it like it is! If this kid's to blame, so are the people at the top who knew about or gave the orders! Read "War Is a Racket" by Major General Smedley Butler - a highly decorated marine & PATRIOT! If you're gun-ho, kill a few Iraqis & BRAG about it, you're not a piece of S-H-I-T but VERY patriotic! What warped sense of patriotism! Some have been sold a bill of goods!
