There have been never a country called SAHARA in the whole history :D we have been very kind not claiming the whole Mauritania and west Algeria too because that was the real Morocco before France came in my Friend. Don't want you to look at the history otherwise you will be surprised what is the real Morocco. Hope you have had a great time in South Morocco.
