2011 Outreach to Teach

The Student Oklahoma Education Association (SOEA) in conjunction with the Oklahoma Education Association (OEA) gave John Adams Elementary School an "Extreme Makeover" on Friday March 4th.

John Adams is an elementary school where 99 percent of the children receive free or reduced lunch. Nearly 200 future teachers from universities across the state will help revamp the Oklahoma City school.

Student members made improvements inside the building including painting murals as well as various landscaping projects outside the school. Not only did the improvements enhance the schools' outside beauty, but it also improved student and teacher morale.
