  • Hi Henry, what's the difference between using glue and sized xuan paper?

  • The different between raw Xuan and sized Xuan is in absorbency. Glue does not change the absorbency but only help to reduce bleeding and keep saturation while water ink or color down.sized xuan is not designed for free-style painting, but for elaborated gongbi style, which you apply color from light to dark, layer by layer to achieve detailed effects. If you try to paint free-style on sized xuan, the ink will stay on the surface, not moving or spread at all, as if on a piece of watercolor paper.

  • Haha! The right side of it looked like a man's face with a mustache and his mouth open. My mind wouldn't let me see a shrimp but just a man with a shrimp body. Hehe!
