The previous video showed a condensed version of welding the rear axle mounts. Here's the detail of how the assembly was set up to prepare for welding. No music, just a bit of narrative.

  • Where is the sprocket and brake pad ???

  • @cocotower In this video, they're not mounted yet. They go on the axle with set screws and clamps.

  • That was a great vid. One question, are the set screws enough to hold the axle in place without moving.

  • @zooberrr The set screws will hold the axle, but I use Loktite on them, and I still check them from time to time. I had some vibrate out once, and that allowed the axle to move.

  • thanks for the vid was querious how go kart axels mounted and stayed in place so not to move from left to right

  • The bearings each have 2 set screws to secure them to the axle.

  • Olá? aonde eu posso comprar um eixo traseiro completo com todas

essas peças que vc mostrou no teu video.obrigado

  • @wires99

wouldn't the screws not be able to hold up to the axles' rotation?

I'm building a gocart and I'm just sourcing out parts

  • Thanks, i found this very helpful/educational. I have some questions that i really hope you can settle for me:

    1. So a "set screw" on each bearing prevents the axle from sliding right out? Does the set screw actually go into the axle? Or is it merely tightened against the axle so to grip it?

    2. What fixes the wheel hubs to the axle? A set screw?

    3. Do the ball bearings turn with the axle inside the brackets? Or do the bearings stay stationary as the axle spins in them?

    4. What is "Loktite"?

  • does anyone know where to get a set of those rear axel bearing mounts? like trhe ones he has?

  • your the bomb, I have been looking for weeks to learn what I need to mount my axle haha great vid bro!

  • @wires99 I see now how the bearings go in their housings and the axle can lift out of all the housings. So the sprocket and brake disc are not welded but rather use set screws? what keeps them from slipping along the axle over time or under stress?

  • @wires99 hi i was wondering where you bought those bearings? did they come with the brcket to weld to the frame? thanks!

  • @zooberrr Hey bruh...that is really cool..How much did you pay for the steel, as in the body frame and where did you get it...I plan on building an electric car in the future and I am thinkin of using steel for the body structure..Thanks
