In a tie game 1-1 in the bottom of the 7th inning Sherwood senior Nathan Craft came to the plate and had a 1-2 count with 2 outs. He hit a shot down the left field line and Quince Orchard LF Jason Williams made a game saving catch ... or did he? You be the judge. After a short delay the umps ruled it a no catch and sherwood went on to win 2-1.

  • No Catch. Great umps.

  • NO CATCH!!!!! He had NO CONTROL over the ball. Seemed like he thought he could skate by and play it off but he got caught NOT CATCHING it! Just my opinion!

  • how is this controversial?

any umpire know that you need to:

make an athletic move to gain complete position after a catch it made.

idk how clear that can be and how this is perfect example this is of a NO CATCH, this is a wonderful call by the umpires and they should get a medal instead of having the Washington Post embarrass them, what a joke........

  • *umpires

  • Learn the rules before you go off on the empires for doing their job. How old are you and you are screaming like that over a play in a HIGH SCHOOL baseball game??

  • NO CATCH! He dropped the ball as his momentum carried him into foul territory. He did NOT complete the play. Check the rule book!

  • He didn't come up with the ball, it was NOT a catch! What was "controversial" about that finish?
