Steam train excursion in Brantford and Paris, Ontario, Canada in the mid-60's.
Also includes footage of the station at Scotland being moved. Does anyone know where it is now?

  • This is amazing! You should give a copy of this to the Brant Museum and Archives they would really enjoy this footage of the county!!!

  • The original 8mm film is in the The Paris Historical Society museum archives, as well as a DVD transfer. I'm don't see why they wouldn't let you make a copy.

  • This footage is wonderful, thank you for posting it.

  • Were you a hogger for excisions or on regular revenue service?

(Sorry. When I went to hit "reply" I accidentally gave your comment a 'thumbs-down'. Oops.)

  • hi glad to see this footage i was a regular hogger on 6218 so i missed on the ground some of it has to be march 20/21 1971 the run past at st mary,s was the best we ever did for speed

  • Love this video!! Perhaps a DVD copy could be made of this and other 6218 footage? The only DVD i know of--besides the Central Vermont Railway footage mentioned by someone here.... is a DVD called "twilight of steam". It has very clear, nice footage of her excursions-- as well as plenty of other locos. I"m a HUGE fan of 6218. She's magnificent. I'm looking for other DVD's of her. Thanks for the info about the Paris Historical Society Museum of this.

  • #6200 in Ottawa isn't too bad, it's been stripped of some of it's features, bell, running numberboard etc, but otherwise it's pretty nice, the paint job is however a little streaky.

  • Wonder how many people, like me, had their first experience with steam with 6218? Must be thousands! As for doing something for her, you need to get with those responsible for her and see what they're willing to accept.
