open your eyes. go see tokitae footage and you can tell lolita is NOT HAPPY. she may be loved by her trainers, but i cant imagine how anybody can be happy in a pathetic bathtub with no protection from the sun

lollita is not cared for at all she doesnt get any shade and is loved by her trainers, she would be getting a bigger tank and more attention, orcalover you need to pay attention more!

i love love orcas but i do think that lolita needs a way bigger tank and maybe a friend it might be kinda lonely just saying. but im not anti-captivity because trainers do love her and take care of her i just think she needs more room is all

This is sad. Anyone who knows a thing about cetaceans knows Lolita is in a dump. Even plain visitors to Seaquarium ask the trainers why the tank is so small, why it's so shallow and why she has no other whales for companionship!! It's so obvious that she's in a nightmarish tiny, barren, concrete pool with no shade, no enrichment, no other orcas, nothing! She performs the same show every single day, 1-2 times, getting little exercise. She simply sulks when she's not performing. Very sad...

yes i know but nothing was ever recorded to make it an accident or not, we cannot read a whales mind. though i dont doubt he did it on purpose, the MSQ is living hell for animals.

yea im not saying i am agreeing with animalabusesucks but if hugo was breaching or performing tricks while entering the water he could have smashed his head multiple times causing a fracture. but that does not mean that he did want to kill himself or not. just another thought to consider.

This is bull. You people are fighting on whether or not she loves captivity. Look, if you where pulled from your family, and put in a tank to small BY LAW, and forced to do rediculous and dangerous stunts for the trainers profit, youd hate it too. For goodness sakes, the seaquarium is building a bigger tank for the swim with dolphins pool, but for the past 30 years have said they where going to build lolita a bigger tank.

Poor Lolita. I support freeing Lolita, while she still has time!
