More about Até ao Osso | To the Bone
Shot from high up, this work stalks an anonymous character who seems to explore some old graves in a recently unearthed cemetery in the city centre of Porto. The artists camera surveys this archaelogical site as well as the casual researcher who digs out and appropriates some of the bones. With the pun in the title, Cerqueira appears to be close to the truth in a way that might offend some people all this happens in an old and historical, UNESCO-protected, area of town which is designated to be destroyed and transformed into luxury hotels and apartments.
