@WhatsAYak Now that you mention it, I do remember this still being used in 1999. For some reason, I had thought it ended in 1996 until you brought this to my attention.

Damn I miss this i use to see this all the time in morning as a kid nostalgia kicking in

Ch. 9 actually continued using "It's for You" as CC music well into the 90s...I remember hearing it during a CC spot that aired right before Family Feud w/Louie Anderson.

And that damn cannon at 0:30 freaked me out too! Lol! It's a real trip seeing this again decades later. (It's almost 2011--it's December 30th, 2010 as I type this--and I'm seeing something I remember very much from my childhood from 20 years! Damn, son!) Thanks for posting this, duke! I'm so saving this as a favorite!!! As you probably already know, t.v. in NYC today is atrocious. People who get to post clips like this is just about the only thing YouTube is good for.

Oh DAMN, man!!! How can you forget the Channel 9 "Community Calender"? :-) That music--which always bugged me out back then! But ironically, its so soothing now. But the main reason this spot messed with my head is because of those "wide open spaces" in Jersey they showed (0:20-0:31-0:34-0:38). It gave me the idea that I in fact was flying over those wide open areas and I could fall off of whatever flying device I was on and be lost in some strange area FAR from B'klyn. I didn't want that!!! :-)

Another cool thing, they showed some footage of South Jersey, which is actually part of the Philly market. Granted, they were getting the EMI feed down there from 1990 to 1996, but I wouldn't doubt that something like this wouldn't be subject to SyndEx (that would've been silly).
