W65/7, H16. You probably know the first part of this sonata, from the Notenbüchlein von Anna Magdalena Bach.
Here we find it as: "solo per il cembalo solo".
The Dutch pianist Albert Brussee, who also works in the field of musicology, discovered, this solo belongs to a complete sonata. At one of his visits in a Library in Eastern Germany, he discovered the score and published it in a very fine and complete edition. You can order this sonata in two versions and more additions, at: http://www.abmusic.nl
I think this might be the first recording on harpsichord.

  • where could I find the sheet music for this beautiful piece?

  • please read the info, thanks

  • Dear Ernst,

I'm getting happy when I hear this music

you play so easily and beatifully. I never heard it before, so it's quite interesting to listen.

    Thanks.

  • Thanks Ria, it surely is "feel good" music!

  • Lovely, lively, rhythmical playing - you make the interminable works of CPEB sound quite attractive! But not the first on harpsichord - I think you will find Luc Beausejour on Fleur de Lys got there 14 years before you! I guess Miklos has recorded it on clavichord too.

  • Yes, the first part I guess, but not the whole sonata I think? I used a first printed edition, with 2 different versions of part 2 & 3. But I will look for it. Thanks!

  • Great playing. Thanks you for playing correctly. I have been chastising others on Youtube for playing these pieces in a romantic style. We're talking about Bach's son here for God's sake.... don't take any tempo liberties people. Keep it strict.

  • If ANYONE is into J.S Bach they will like his son.

  • Gorgeous!!!

  • Oh, I learned to play the Solo per il cembalo on the piano. And, I think I have learned the apogiaturas wrongly ._. but, wow, thanks for the video, I coudnt find any with someone playing it on the harpsichord :3
