Thanks to a comment this plane has been identified as a North American T-28 Trojan. It was pretty cool to be right there when he started it and took off.

  • A T-28 crashed at a Martinsburg, W. Va air show on the same day as the P-51 crashed during the infamous Reno Air Show trajedy.

  • @twinkie57401 No kidding? Interesting.

  • Can the front canopy open without the rear section being open?

  • @jjohnston94 Yes, I believe I have seen the pilot flying alone before with the front open.

  • North American T-28 Trojan trainer. Technically wasn't developed until after WWII (1950)

  • @AgentHydra Wow! That's it. Thanks agentHydra.

  • @jjohnston94 Nope. They are linked to each other. Rear opens proportionate to the back.

  • @nate42nd No, it cant, they both operate on the same system therefore they open at the same time

  • I'm so old as a child I'd see flyable in license P-51's in trade-a-plane for $2500. I always kinda didn't think trainers were cool. Now I'd give my right eye for a RIDE in one! Funny how things change . . .
