Not uncommon back then. Mixing boards were much simpler; they often didn't have separate feeds for the live sound and recording.

So they would often put up separate mics for each.

Too bad the mix wasn't better. I mean, it was a good performance. I think as the Beatles music became more sophisticated in the studio, it became harder for them to pull it off live with the same energy. Even so, I love this vid, as it seems to be one of the later ones,
