In the African nation of Niger, thousands of women suffer from a condition called Obstetrical Fistulas which can occur during a difficult childbirth. The result is incontinence which causes these women to become outcasts from their family and community. Since 2003, the IOWD organizes teams for surgeons, nurses and staff on medical missions to Niger to help these women who are considered "untouchable" by society. This is their story.

  • At 43 ,i can not contain my tears.People are rejcted just because of something they are not responsible.I'm from this country and i know women suffer so much of discrimination and ill treatment.Anyway, may God bless all these people who work for this organisation to restore some lives already lost.

  • I never knew about this problem. Whoever posted this did a good service, but I hope the word can get out even more.
