The recording was made at Abbey Road studios on 12 April 1939. There is a marvellous audio restoration from Dutton Labs on CD. And, of course, Beecham made later recordings of the work in 1949 and 1958 - the last in Stereo.

IMHO, while not high-fidelity, not too terribly bad, either. All the same, shall query the Victrola Doctor on how a regimen of Beecham's Liver Pills might benefit this vintage 1928 contraption! Cheers, etc. All Best. Doug --
