  • Also, naming it a trail is not so much an endorsement of trespassing as it is an identification of how it's used. In other words, let's call a spade a spade.

  • Is that really a good comparison? I understand the issues of private property, however, is walking on an abandoned rail line the same as entering the yard of a home that is occupied? At this scale, in a city like Chicago, private property takes on a different nature than a small yard. In a sense, this private property is of public interest in a unique way.

  • NOT a trail. Privately owned. Cannot be condemned either. Better kept as a rail thoroughfare for east-west movement in the city. People act like it is a park. The same folks who'd have a fit if others hiked and hung out in another person's yard.
