this looked about like my recent attempts at making roti, which is basically a whole wheat tortilla they make in India. at first I was annoyed at it not "poofing" up but since it was the only thing I had to eat for two weeks the non-poofing aspect became unimportant.

If you don't have a tortilla press, you can put a golf ball sized piece of doe between two pieces of wax paper, then press down on it (hard) with an empty pot or pan to make a perfectly round tortilla. Peel off the top layer of paper, then lift up the bottom layer with the torilla, place the tortilla on your hand, peel off the other layer, then flip it onto the grill. Corn flour is NOT Masa. Use only Masa for corn tortillas, or they will taste floor tiles.

Just a suggestion go to walmart supercenter and they sell maseca (masa harina) and add lukewarm water and 1 tsp. of salt and you need a tortilla press and they also sell it at Walmart and I'm also sure by now you have a Mexican store and they also sell tortilla press don't give up and keep trying. saludos from Nevada.
