This tribute salutes WAKY Radio's Johnny Randolph. (He was a WAKY DJ and/or Program Director between 1969 and 1977.) Legendary WAKY air personalities Dude Walker, Jason O'Brian, Mason Lee Dixon, Gary Burbank and Coyote Calhoun salute their former boss at the 2006 WAKY-WKLO Reunion in Louisville, Kentucky. The video features classic photos and airchecks from 79WAKY.com, the official WAKY tribute Website. The video was created by Kevin Bratcher and the Louisville Sun newspapers, and produced by John Quincy and 79WAKY.com.

  • WAKY is still rockin' the lou! it's in radcliff on 103.5, still using those great jingles like they did in the 60's and 70's!

  • I can remember listening to Jumpin' Jack Sanders on WAKY in maybe 1957 or 58(?). Seems like he was on around 4 in the afternoon, but that was a long time ago and I was only nine years old. I can still remember Jerry Lee's "Whole Lotta Shaking Going On" coming through that radio speaker. It was a great time. Jack, if you're out there, you were a star, dude.

  • man, I grew up on Coyote Calhoun, and I miss him, wish I could hear him in Phoenix

  • Nice video, I recently found WAKY back on the air. And what a wonderful surprise to be listening in the afternoon and finding Johnny Randolph on. I was president of his fan club way back when and had a great time in the 60's listening to WAKY and all the great DJ's of that time. Thanks for the memories. As always remember No matter where you go , there you are. Rita Yates Dugan "The Pres"

  • Ahhh WAKY and the Weird Beard from late 60's and early 70's what memories!
