Chinese American Association of Greater Chicago took a big role in this rally.
According to CNN and FOX News, China is a controversial place to hold the Olympics. These news agencies are attacking China on behalf of the Dalai Lama and the U.S.-funded movement for Tibetan independence. A small group of independence supporters launched protests in Tibet in March to coincide with the start of the relay to carry the Olympic torch to Beijing. Their protests quickly turned violent, with Tibetan separatists attacking shops owned by ethnic Han and Muslim Chinese. Included among the ten people that died during those riots were five young women victims in Lhasa, the Tibetan capital, who died in a fire started by the separatists.Protesters were especially angry with CNN announcer Jack Cafferty. Referring to the Chinese authorities who put a stop to the rioting in Lhasa, he said, "I think they're basically the same bunch of goons and thugs they've been for the last 50 years." The rally in Chicago made a special point of calling for Cafferty to be fired and for CNN to issue a real apology.

..the Han-Chinese and the Tibetans. So instead of re-picking up the slogans ("wolf in a cowl") of the mortifying Mao-era, the unteachable CCP should hold (fair!!!) negotiations with Dalai Lama if it is as really anxious about the unity of our motherland as it always pretends to be. Eventually I hope that all Chinese living outside Mainland China consider different point of views in terms of political conflicts while they already have acces to different sources of information.

...but they also absorbed the propaganda of the bloody CCP. I fear that the Tibetan Independence Movement will only radicalize once Dalai Lama has died. All what we Chinese want to archieve is a permanent integration of Tibet in China, but without permanent peace and stability in Tibet, the Chinese claim for Tibet will always be doubted. And today Dalai Lama is the only person to negotiate with if we want to come up to a peaceful solution of the "Tibet problem" which satisfies both...

I don't know how often Dalai Lama should repeat the statement, that he is NOT struggling for the Tibetan Independance, but only for more autonomy and self-administration inside of our motherland. Now, I'm shocked to see that Oversease Chinese hasn't only replaced the White Sun Flag which is the only national flag of an united, free China in which citizens don't have to fear state arbitrariness by adopting the "national" flag of Communist China....
