Cinerama Inc. Scans 70mm Film at Crest Hollywood. Dave Strohmaier is giving you a first look at remastering some rare 70mm Films. http://www.in70mm.com/news/2011/remaster/
The 70mm composite does not capture the full width of the Kinopanorama frames, which are identical in width to those of Cinerama [a slight difference in the overlap of each frame in Kinopanorama, however]. Keep in mind that the film was shot in Sovcolor, an echt-Agfacolour process which originated in East Germany.
Looks pretty good. Some alignment and color matching issues, but really a very, very nice job. That tracking shot on the steps must have been a nightmare to line up. The guy walking through the woods was the best looking scene. They sure gave you some tough matchings in some of those scenes!
O wow...I saw this film as a child in 1965, never forgot it. No wonder! Thank you.
